Black Suit Initiative Membership Application
In 2016, The Sparrow's Nest, Inc. launched their new, all-male program,  "The Black Suit Initiative". This FREE leadership and community engagement program, allows young men in middle and high school, the opportunity to improve academic performance, explore their career interests and participate in positive team building exercises. The successful completion of program activities, allows these young men the opportunity to earn their own full black suit at the completion of their first year. Members can remain in the program until they graduate from high school.

Meetings occur 2-3 Saturdays each month, between the hours of 9am-2pm(times will vary). Young men are selected to become members of the program through an application and interview process. We are currently accepting applications from rising 6th grade males through rising 10th grade males. (Because attendance is a key factor to remaining in the program, we cannot accept applicants who participate in recreation league sports or other  extracurricular activities which meet on Saturdays) We will have 10 openings for the upcoming school year.

Responses to these questions should be between 5-7 sentences in length.

Application Process
All electronic and paper applications must be received by no later than Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 3:30pm t-o be considered for membership in The Black Suit Initiative. The Black Suit Initiative will have 8 openings in the 2019-2020 school year. Applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of current members, educators and volunteers. Based upon the careful review of applications, candidates will be selected to proceed to an interview conducted by the review committee. All accepted applicants would be notified no later than July 31, 2019. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept all applicants into the program. Thank you for your interest.
