Notification of Infant Prenatally Substance Exposed & Plan of Safe Care
Wyoming State Statute and Federal CARA of 2016 have data reporting requirements regarding Plans of Safe Care that DFS must comply with annually:
        A) The number of infants for whom a plan of safe care was developed
        B) The number of infants for whom a referral was made for appropriate services, including services for the affected family or caregiver.

Additionally, for Statewide data collection, the substance of concern is also needed.

Finally, CARA requires that “Health care providers involved in the delivery or care of such infants notify the child protective services system of the occurrence of such conditions of such infants” P.L. 115-271 sec. 105(a)(6)(bb.)

For any questions or concerns please contact the Plan of Safe Care Program Analyst, Brittney Thyarks at brittney.thyarks@wyo.gov or 307-777-6760.
