Thank you for your interest in becoming a Boise Tree Captain! Boise Tree Captains help support the
Elaine Clegg City of Trees Challenge and help reach the goal of planting a tree for every household in the City of Boise by 2030 (100,000 trees!).
Boise Tree Captains will share the City of Trees Challenge with neighbors to select planting sites and lead a volunteer effort to plant & care for trees. Opportunities for Boise Tree Captains to volunteer at other tree plantings and public outreach events will occur throughout the year.
Boise Tree Captains can expect to volunteer 10-40 hours over the course of six to eight months, including a spring training session. Working together with other volunteers, Boise Tree Captains will help plant 300 trees this fall. What you will be individually responsible for will depend on volunteer interest.
A formal Boise Tree Captain training will be held on Saturday, June 15th. If you cannot make this training, we encourage you to still apply and let us know in the notes.
