Honorary Fellow status is conferred on an individual who is not a member or no longer a member (retired)of the society, in recognition of their outstanding and significant contribution and or achievement in the resilience field.
Honorary Fellowship will be awarded for a maximum of 3 years.
Nominees will have shown evidence of one or more of the following criteria:
•
Outstanding contribution to the community during an emergency
•
Outstanding accomplishments in professional career
•
Distinguished service to the profession and community
•
Research within the resilience field
•
Education, learning and development within resilience
•
A significant contribution to and or strong connection with the vision and mission of the Society
•
A significant achievement that has contributed to the development of resilience
•
Hold influential roles to effect change to support the mission of the society
The process for nomination is as follows
•
Nominations for Honorary Fellow shall be required to have 1 nominator and 2 referee 1 member 1 Fellow who are current Society members/fellows.
•
Nomination form should include a statement that provides evidence as to why it is felt this person should be awarded Honorary Fellow.
•
A chronological, narrative account of the nominee’s achievements relevant to the nomination
•
All nomination should be sent to

Honorary Fellows that are successfully nominated typically display some or all of the following attributes:
•
Renowned for sustained research achievement of significance
•
Prominent captains of industry that have a strong resilience base (harnessing resilience-based innovation, research, development, professional role, contribution to the safety of the community)
•
Outstanding contribution to the community during the response or recovery from a major incident
•
Outstanding contribution to the safety and resilience of their community
We encourage nominations that reflect the diversity of resilience and are representative of our community as a whole.
CONFIDENTIALITY
It is very important that confidentiality is observed at all stages of the nomination and selection process. Please do not disclose your nomination to the nominee or others until the nomination has received final approval by the Board and accepted by the nominee.
