SCUSD Transitional Kindergarten Under-Age Waiver Form

Under-Age Transitional Kindergarten Waiver Board Policy (BP 6170.1)

Upon request of a child’s parents/guardians, the district may, on a case-by-case basis, admit into the district’s Transitional Kindergarten program, a child who will have their fifth birthday after June 2, 2025 for the 2024-25 school year. This waiver shall apply if transitional kindergarten classes are not fully enrolled to capacity for the 2024-25 school year only.

Instructions

  • Please fill out the form below if your student will have their fifth birthday after June 2, 2025. 
  • You may request a specific school site, but please know that SCUSD can not guarantee placement at any site. 
  • Students with a sibling and/or guardian working at a specific site will be given priority of placement. 

SCUSD's Enrollment Center will contact you on or after August 29, 2024, if space is available for your student in one of our Transitional Kindergarten classrooms. If you accept placement, you will be required to fill out a registration form for your student that must include photo identification, address verification, proof of birth documentation, and immunization records.
