MUSEUM TOUR OVERVIEW

During this 1-hour museum tour:

Discover how local cinnabar significantly impacted the California gold rush. On the 1 hour tour, explore how cinnabar was mined and processed into mercury and hear about the lives of the hardworking miners and their families.
Witness authentic mining equipment and family artifacts used by the miners in their families.
After the museum tour, your group will have 30 minutes to look at the museum exhibits on their own and visit the gift shop.

Tips:

We can accommodate a minimum of 10 and up to 35 people on a tour.
Tour content is best for ages 9+.
There are picnic tables in the backyard if you would bring something to eat before or after your tour.
If the tour is for a group of children, we require a minimum ratio of 1 adult for every 8 kids.
If your group has special needs, please let us know how we can help accommodate them.
Park staff will email a booking confirmation letter once your museum tour is approved.
Please call the park contact number on your confirmation letter 7-10 days before your museum tour to confirm final details.
