Request an appointment for library access
As per Willamette University Guidelines, the Mark O. Hatfield Library is closed to the general public until further notice. Individuals who feel they have a compelling research need may request access for a research appointment. All such appointments are at the discretion of the University Librarian or their designee.

Requests for access should be predicated on a research need that requires access to items that are unique to the Hatfield Library’s collections and cannot be obtained through Interlibrary Loan by the requester’s home library (public or otherwise).

Requests for access must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance by completing this form. It is generally assumed that research appointments will take less than three hours and be accomplished in one visit, Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Individuals requiring a longer period or multiple visits will be at the discretion of the University Librarian. Solo visits are preferred, but one additional guest may accompany the visitor if necessary.

During an appointment researchers will be asked to:

1) Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination

2) Sign in and acknowledge their compliance with the expectations outlined in the Hatfield Library’s Unaffiliated User Policy: https://libguides.willamette.edu/unaffiliated

3) Wear a face mask at all times
