Forney ISD is searching for parents, business partners, and community members to serve on one of four key committees that will help guide the district as it prepares for the future.  They are:

DISTRICT EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL - This committee will analyze district data, propose district calendars and professional development, and provide feedback for improvement planning for the school district.

ADVANCED ACADEMICS/GIFTED & TALENTED COMMITTEE - This committee will discuss beliefs and future plans for advanced academics, gifted/talented, college and career, and other enrichment programs in Forney ISD.

CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE - This committee will explore best practices for ensuring a positive and safe campus culture throughout Forney ISD.

CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION COMMITTEE - This committee will develop plans for cultural awareness integration and ensure an inclusive learning environment for all of our students, staff, and community.  The committee will help build a multi-year plan of implementation for our district to facilitate conversations, learning, and better understanding of each other throughout our district and community.

STUDENT HEALTH ADVISORY COUNCIL - This council will assist the district in ensuring that local community values are reflected in health education instruction. Additionally, SHAC plays and important role in strengthening the connection between health and learning. They assist parents in reinforcing the knowledge and skills children need to stay healthy for a lifetime.

SAFETY COMMITTEE - The purpose of the District Safety Committee is to promote safety and security in all district facilities by: (1) developing and implementing emergency plans, (2) participate in the the district's safety and security audit, and (3) review district training activities.
