The event will take place in Haxby Memorial Hall from 11.00 until 16.00, with a play-through for friends and family at 15.00.

This rehearsal is open to all interested players, whether or not they play regularly in the Cobweb Orchestra, so please encourage your friends to come along. This is a wonderful opportunity to play one of the great romantic symphonies of the late 19th century – great tunes with a grand Tchaikovsky finale – not to be missed! We will be guided through this work by Patrick Burnett, musical director of the York group.

Travelling from the North East or Cumbria
If you are coming from the North East or Cumbria, you will find the venue in Haxby, which is north of York, easy to access by car or public transport.

By car:
Haxby is close to the Ring Road and is readily accessible from the A1(M) and A59, or alternatively via the A19. Parking is relatively plentiful at the venue.

By public transport:
Trains between York and the North of England are frequent and rapid. The No.1 bus service runs from York Station directly to Haxby village − a 10 to 15 minute journey. Get off by the parade of shops and then simply cross the road to the Memorial Hall (http://www.haxbymemorialhall.org/).

Lunch
There will be a 'bring and share' lunch so please bring a contribution if you would like to get involved. There is a supermarket opposite the venue, so you can buy something there if you need to. Please remember to check the Cobweb food hygiene guidelines (https://cobweborchestra.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Food-hygiene-at-Cobweb-events-1.pdf). There is a kitchen with a fridge for storing chilled food, and tea and coffee will be available for players.
