Decolonizing Nature Conservation
Event Timing: May 27th, 2021 20:00 - 22:00 CEST (Amsterdam)
Online
Communication: register.academy@gmail.com

As we are dealing with a global biodiversity decline, action is necessary. A broad range of strategies for the conservation of biodiversity exists. At times, social sciences have expressed concerns regarding the practice of conservation. During this event, we will be talking about the notion of decolonization and reflect on its relevance for conservation.

The Future for Nature Academy is a student organization for those passionate about conservation. On the 27th of May, FFNA is organizing an event on the decolonization of nature conservation. We will do this together with Gerard Verschoor (WUR-SDC), Bas Verschuuren (WUR-FNP/IUCN), Joost van Montfort (WWF) and Thandie Chikomo (Amplifying Voices for Just Climate Action). Join us in this debate!
