Hello Everyone,

The Synapse Exec Team is super excited to welcome you to the club for the upcoming semester! We hope you have all had a restful winter break given the crazy things going on in the world and that you and your loved ones are all safe and healthy.

This year will be a little different than previous years because everything will be online. But, we still hope to foster an educational, open and philanthropic environment. As a member, you will gain exposure to patient advocacy and research, and will have the opportunity to progress skills such as leadership, science communication, patient interaction, and event planning. Our members (both general and exec) come from a variety of science majors, so there is plenty of opportunity for mentorship. Many are focused on graduate and professional schools (such as medicine) and previous members have already gotten into those programs! Furthermore, many of our members are involved in research, co-op, Work Learn, and more. So feel free to ask us any academic questions that you may have!

We'll be organizing a general meeting that will serve as both an icebreaker for new and returning members, as well as, a viewing part for our interview series! It will be held on Tues. Feb. 2nd @ 8pm PST, so keep an eye on your emails and/or the Facebook and CampusBase group for the Zoom link. You are welcome to attend this meeting event to experience the club's atmosphere prior to officially joining the team and the above groups.

For the club membership fee, please e-transfer $1 to our treasurer (Lexia Bao): lexiabao99@gmail.com. Please remember to do the following when you submit the payment so we can track everyone that has paid:

1) set the answer to the security question as "synapse"
2) include your full name (your first and last legal name) and student number in the description of the e-transfer
