Inspired by the Hindu festival of Holi, this untimed event emphasizes fun over competition and has no winners or prizes. The runners are showered with colored powder, made of food-grade corn starch, at six stations along the run. The Forest Park PTO D91 Color Run will include a DJ, treats, and fun for the whole family! REGISTRATION DEADLINE - September 1 at 9pm.
Color Run Frequently Asked Questions-
Do I need to be a 'runner' to participate?
NO! This Color Run is all about fun for all ages of participants, whether you walk, run, skip or hop through the route! It is not a timed event. If not everyone in your family wants to do the Color Run, feel free to come to our pre and post-run activities!
What if I want to join in on the fun run without getting color powder thrown at me?
People will have the option to veer away from the color stations that are clearly marked on the path if the powder isn't your thing.
Will the Color Run ruin my clothes or shoes?
Families who choose to have color thrown on them can expect to get a rainbow of colors on their clothes. It is washable but just to be safe, wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
Is Color Run powder safe for me and my family?
Yes, the color powder used is made from cornstarch, food dyes, and baking soda. Inhaling in small doses, while outside should not negatively impact participants. Please use your own discretion!
