We are pleased to open the application for the Spring 2023 Maricopa County Master Naturalist (MCMN) Training Course. We are excited to convene a new group of members willing to work toward shared goals of equity and inclusion in natural history programs; providing leadership as volunteers for our partner organizations and cultivating an experience where everyone can thrive.
The course is conducted online with in-person field experiences throughout the course. The class is held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8:30 PM via Zoom with Field Labs held on Saturday mornings in various parks around the valley. You will be required to participate in 5 Field Labs or attend all 8 made available to you.
If you are interested in participating in this journey, please complete this application to be CONSIDERED as a participant in the Spring 2023 MCMN Course starting in January 11, 2023. There is a non-refundable $20 application fee required in order to be considered for the program.
You will receive instructions on how to remit this fee once you submit this application form.
We will notify applicants of their acceptance by email. Within 48 hours after receiving your acceptance email, you will receive instructions on how to remit the remainder of the course fee, $280. By paying a total of $300, your seat will be reserved in the course that begins on Wednesday, January 11, running through May 03, 2023.
The criteria for acceptance includes your availability to participate in the course at the given times, ability to volunteer, your reason for taking the course, and a commitment to support the organization. Previous academic achievement is NOT a driving factor in your selection - we seek to bring together a cohort of people who are open-minded and willing to work together on projects for our community.
