The Little Elm Ruck Club is an Official GO RUCK Club. Fundamental Foundations Counseling Center, PLLC is the proud sponsor of this family and pet friendly club, and primarily promote awareness about mental wellness and social fitness.

What is rucking?

Rucking is walking with a weight sack or backpack. Rucking builds strength, endurance, character, and has an effect on your heart that's comparable to jogging. This activity improves your all-around work capacity and endurance.

We ruck on the trails and sometimes go off the beaten path, too! Our Rucks for this challenge will start and 3 miles and increase by one mile for each scheduled walk, which is why it is called #GoTheDistance.

This is a social fitness group that incorporate support with psychoeducation to help you navigate the life and meet new people. There is NO fee but we do ask that you register so we know who will attend and recognize you. This is an open group to the public, we always accept new participants. All ages are welcome, as well as pets who are good citizens to other animals and humans. Periodically we host "Challenges" and special events. To find out more about our regular Rucking schedule please request to join our Facebook private group.

Please be aware that we do not provide backpacks or rucksacks for walkers. You may choose to bring your own sack, backpack, arm or leg weights, or whatever you choose to make it challenging for you. There is no weight limit for sacks and the walks are not timed. Each walk does have a designated route to explore nature trails near waterways available for us to enjoy in the DFW Metroplex.

You are welcome to come solo, bring a friend, significant other, family, (furry family members count too!), co-worker, or a team. All are welcome!

** On the Last Ruck Route Challenge we will host a Post-Walk Social Hub with Drinks, Healthy Eats and an option to Mingle with your Fellow Ruckers :)

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN ANY/ALL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS EVENT, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.

I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in this activity, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my participation in this activity.

I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity in which I may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity.

In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this activity, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:

(A) I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this activity, Ruck the Waterways #GoTheDistance Challenge hosted by Fundamental Foundations Counseling Center, Little Elm Ruck Club and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers;

(B) INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise.

I acknowledge that Fundamental Foundations Counseling Center and its directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, partners and agents are NOT responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific activity on their behalf.

I acknowledge that this activity may involve a test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, lack of hydration, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, monitors, and/or producers of the activity. These risks are not only inherent to participants but are also present for volunteers.

I hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this activity.

Health & Event Protocols

I agree to contact the event administrator if I don’t feel well, have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within 72 hours of the event, or have tested positive, or show any symptoms of COVID-19 or any sickness, I will agree to stay home and am willing to be rescheduled for another upcoming event once I feel better.
