2020 Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention Call for Presentations
The 42nd Annual Wisconsin Lakes Partnership Convention and Water Action Volunteer Symposium will be held April 1-3, 2020 in Stevens Point, WI.

This year's theme is "Wisconsin Waters 2020 - Focusing on Resilient Lakes and Rivers".  The event is a collaboration of the Wisconsin DNR, the University of Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Lakes. We are a partnership of people caring for our legacy of lakes, rivers and streams through science, education, and citizen involvement.  For 2020 we are taking a closer look at how we can continue to protect and enhance our wonderful water resources.  Ideas to focus on may include:  addressing habitat loss through restorations, tackling non-point source pollution through producer-led coalitions, managing invasive species through citizen monitoring and education, or mitigating climate consequences through improved landscape design.

We are looking to highlight RESILIENCY in 2020 convention presentations. Resiliency is the capacity of natural and human systems to "bounce back" from stressful events through self-organization, learning and adaptation. Where possible, please include a description of how your proposed presentation will feature resiliency.

The Convention brings together scientists, managers, and citizen stakeholders to learn more about water resources, so the audience is more varied than a typical research or professional conference. Ideally, presentations provide the audience with actionable lessons that they might apply at any of Wisconsin's thousands of lakes, rivers or streams.
