Please mark these dates on your calendar and make sure you are prepared for each stage of the competition.  Further information will be provided as we approach each milestone. 


1. Deadline:  2/5/2024 - 2/9/2024 -  Register School/District Champion for the Regional Online Qualifier test Opens 

Location: Online Only Registration

Please note: The school  winner will NOT automatically move onto the in-person bee. Frontier staff will register our winner online for the Regional Qualifiers test. This will be a test that the winner may take in school or at home with a parent. The top 75 scores of the online test will be invited to participate in the state spelling bee. We will contact you to let you know if your winner will move on. 

Once the student is notified of the win at the Regional level 

2. Deadline: 2/12/2024 - 2/16/2024 - Regional Online Qualifiers Test is Open for 5 days only.

Please note: This test is open online only. Frontier's Bee school champion will need to take this online test to see if they can move on to the state bee.  This may be taken in class with a teacher or at home with a parent.

 3. Deadline: 2/19/2024 - Registration for In-Person State Bee opens to the top scores of the online test.

Location: Online Only Registration to attend the in-person bee

Please note: We will contact you to let you know if your student made it to the top 75 and will move on and needs to register.

 4. Deadline: 3/1/2024  Registration for In-Person Bee CLOSES to the top scores of online test.

Location: Online Only Registration. No late exceptions. 

 5. Alaska State Spelling Bee // In-Person Event

Date: Thursday, March 21, 2024, 10:00 AM start time 

Location: Discovery Theatre inside the Performing Arts Center, Downtown Anchorage, Alaska.

Please note:  The champion will be announced and awarded tickets to the Scripps National Bee in May!  

Family, friends, educators and students are all welcome to attend!
