SWIYA Mentor Application
We are so excited to have you join us as a prospective Storywish Inspiring Young Authors (SWIYA) mentor!

Before you start this application, please be aware of the *time commitment* that the SWIYA program requires from its mentors to ensure that the young authors involved can enjoy as successful of a program as possible. During the duration of the program from November to early March, you will be REQUIRED to spend at least 8 hours total with your young author working on the storybook in order to complete the storybook. You will also be REQUIRED to complete a CORI background check, attend PBHA training, and participate in mentor training sessions that will take place around the end of October to the beginning of November (total training time: 6 hours). You will also be REQUIRED to attend a few mentor meetings held on a monthly basis.

To help us get to know you a bit better and to help you understand the responsibilities of SWIYA mentors, please fill out the following application by October 1st. After a first round review of these applications by the SWIYA Committee and members of the Executive Board, we will reach out to appropriate candidates by October 7th to schedule online Zoom interviews for the next stage of the application process.

Best of luck, and thank you again for your interest in SWIYA. We look forward to reading your application.

Again, the deadline for the written SWIYA mentor application is October 1st.
