I know that many parents do not think of ADHD as a disability, but it is considered a disability in the United States under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, section 504, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). A developmental disability is any condition that occurs during child development that negatively impacts daily function. These conditions can affect behavior, learning, motor skills, or language development. ADHD is not a learning disability, but many children who are diagnosed with ADHD also have learning disabilities. Please keep this in mind as you complete the form.
