Become a GWS Faculty Affiliate
Hello GWS friends!

We'd like to get more information about you and your level of interest in various aspects of GWS. Please answer the questions that most interest you. The first group of questions deals with teaching and mentoring, the second with invited speakers and WSTAR (our faculty teaching and research group), the last with grants and scholarships. Thanks for taking the time to fill this out!

Please take a look at our GWS faculty affiliate webpage: https://kennedy.byu.edu/global-womens-studies/faculty. How would you like to be listed as an affiliate? *
One of the main ways GWS affiliates contribute to our program is by teaching classes, either as adjunct faculty or as part of their regular teaching load as full-time faculty. Here is a list of GWS courses that need to be taught regularly. Please let us know if you might like to teach or team-teach any of them.
If you checked any of the boxes in the preceding question, elaborate here on when you'd be interested in teaching the class(es) you marked. If you're proposing a new class, tell us more about it.
All GWS minors have to complete a capstone project, overseen by a faculty mentor. What GWS topics would you be interested in mentoring?
GWS organizes a lot of lectures, both for the GWS colloquium and for the WSTAR faculty group. What scholars working on topics related to women and gender would you be interested in inviting to campus? Please give us as much information as you have about their affiliation, areas of expertise, and likely attitude toward the mission of BYU.
Would you like to / be available to serve on a review committee for one of our faculty or student awards on a one-time or ongoing basis? (The WRI/Wells committee meets late in fall semester. The Jensen committee meets near the beginning of fall and winter semester. The Nalder, Siegfried, Gates, and Teichert committees meet near the end of winter semester.)
Would you be interested in co-directing our Human Rights / Women’s Rights Study Abroad in the future? Where would you like to base the program? What issues / historical rights abuses would you focus on in your version of the program? Who would you want to co-direct it with? When would you be able to lead the program?
Are you involved in research, community service, or other kinds of projects that it would be great for GWS students to get involved in? Please let us know about it.
Do you have other ideas for projects, events, or opportunities to improve the GWS program for students and faculty? Please share them with us:
