Submit Your Proposal
The Site Magazine accepts proposals for previously unpublished work, including, but not limited to, writings, drawings, and photos that responds to our current call for submissions.

Our mandate is to present sophisticated ideas in accessible prose.  We are not an academic journal, although many of our contributors are notable academics.  If you are submitting material that has been developed in an academic context, please consider how it can be re-framed as a magazine article for a general readership.  Please take a look at our past issues to get a sense of the type of work we are interested in.

Proposals should be between 200-500 words, indicating your main idea and the scope of your (written, visual or other) explorations.  Please also upload sample images if relevant.

If accepted, a complete draft will be requested:  these vary in length, but are generally around 2500 words.  Short text pieces are often accompanied by more visual material, and longer pieces might be more intensive essays.  In some cases we may specify a word count based on available space.  Finished pieces must be formatted according to our style guide: www.thesitemagazine.com/s/Site_StyleSheet-for-authors.pdf

Due to the volume of submissions, we can only respond to authors whose articles we expect to publish. Contact will be made within 6 weeks of each issue’s submission deadline.

Please email us at editors@thesitemagazine.com if you have any further questions or experience any technical problems, using "Proposals" in the subject line.
