Open Camping means that you will be able to set up your tent anywhere in the designated area knowing you will have others setting up along side you for a weekend of activities you choose on and off the farm. 

You may arrive on Friday anytime after 2pm to set up your space. Breath of Dawn will host a welcome reception at 7pm with lite refreshments so everyone can meet and plan activities.
On Saturdays, Breath of Dawn hosts a volunteer workshop from 9:30am-12noon with a lite lunch for volunteers immediately following. Campers do not have to volunteer, volunteers do not have to camp. 

Open Camping ends on Sunday and all campers must be packed up by noon unless additional dates are paid for in advance. 

All campers (or legal guardians)  must sign the farm participant waiver located on our website. 

Breath of Dawn offers primitive camping only. We do NOT have power or water hookups available. Well water is available for filling up your water containers upon request. Facilities include portable toilets, composting toilets, and hand washing stations. 

Car camping is welcome with advance notice. Pets are welcome with advance notice. Please make us aware if you have these or any other special requests on this form. 

Fires may be prohibited based on area fire restrictions. Firewood is available for purchase. 

Limited camping essentials are available for rent. 

Breath of Dawn is a Leave No Trace Camping Location - you must take trash with you and please do not disturb the natural areas around the farm. 

Cost for open camping weekends are $20 per tent per night paid via online invoice once your camping request is approved. 

Breath of Dawn is a 35 acre educational homestead located in rural Southwest Virginia. We offer a peaceful retreat with lots of area activities including Kayaking the Clinch River or Hiking to the Mendota Fire Tower.
