Peace Educators Allied for Children Everywhere Inc. (P.E.A.C.E.) is a network of parents, teachers, early childhood educators, and other concerned individuals dedicated to helping young children and their caregivers develop and thrive in peace and well-being. We are seeking a social media intern to support us with regularly posting, updating, and managing our social media profiles. Currently we publish a newsletter each month, and we have a presence on Facebook. We would like to expand our presence on National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Hello, and web site platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This social media intern would be responsible for posting on social media through the lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, social and environmental justice, and peace. A qualified candidate would have some social media experience and have an understanding of P.E.A.C.E., our mission, the website, and content related to early childhood education, and families.
Experience and Skills:
Strong communication skills
Good writing skills for social media
Experience using various social media platforms and the details for posting on those platforms
Familiarity with peace and social justice issues, especially as they relate to children
Enthusiasm about the issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and social and environmental justice
Activities:
Be a regular presence on social media for our organization
Create content
Research what is being posted related to social media about diversity, equity, inclusion, social and environmental justice, and peace education
Highlight or create trending activities for children and families
Evaluate website and recommend updates to the mentors
Fundraising, look into advertising on the above platforms
