We'd love to have you camp with us! Please answer the following questions so that we know who to expect. Once we have received your responses, you will receive a confirmation with further information regarding rules, liability waivers, etc. Fees are due no later than Sunday, August 14; options for submitting your payment will be part of the confirmation.
Here are the basics:
- The campout is at the beautiful Santa Lucia Campground on the Big Sur River, 27 miles south of UUCMP and here, for your convenience, is a map.
- The fees for this community adventure are $25 per night per person, but kids 12 and younger are free. Camperships are available.
- If a campership would make this affordable for you, please send a confidential email to kerrysissem@earthlink.net.
- The camp is ours from Friday at 2:00 PM to Sunday at 11:00 AM.
- We all bring our own tents, camping gear, mess kits, etc. (If you need to borrow any gear, send an email to camping@uucmp.org.) Breakfasts on Saturday (pancakes & fruit) and Sunday (oatmeal with all the fixings) are provided by the Campout Committee and Saturday evening features our legendary UUCMP Stone Soup. Other than that, you're responsible for you own food and drinks.
- The activity plan is unstructured. The river is nearby for wading. The mountains are there for hiking. If you bring a comfy camp chair, it will be available for lounging.
- Good dogs on leashes are welcome.
- Campfire time is fabulous! Bring your musical instruments if you wish, your singing voice, your camp stories, and your sense of humor.
