Introduction to Canvas
New to Canvas? After an overview of Canvas environment and the global navigation options, you will explore the course navigation menu and individual components that are used to deliver content and assess student performance.  You will learn how to customize your course Home page, create Announcements, upload files, use the rich content editor to create content, adjust course settings and publish your course so it is available to students. Assignments and Grading in Canvas
In Canvas, "Assignments" refer to any scored student work — online submitted assignments, unsubmitted activities, scored discussion, or even quizzes. In this session, you will learn how to create different types of assignments, group assignments to make grade weighting easier, and use the Gradebook and SpeedGrader to quickly score student work. Prerequisite: Introduction to Canvas workshop or prior experience with Canvas.  Instructor: Jim Lacey
Google Workspace: Organize & Collaborate
Google Drive is the backbone of your Google experience, combining storage, access, sharing, and collaboration with the power of Google  tools such as Google Docs and Slides.  During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to communicate about shared files with students and colleagues and learn tips for managing and organizing your files on Google Drive. Instructor: Hedrick Ellis
YuJa - Creating, Editing, and Storing Video
YuJa is Endicott's cloud-based video storage service that integrates with Canvas. This hands-on workshop will give you some hands-on experience with using YuJa to create, edit, and manage videos. We will also explore how to add captions and embed questions into videos.
Interactive Presentations
Are you ready to go beyond standard PowerPoint presentations? Engage your students with tools such as Poll Everywhere and Pear Deck that let you check for understanding and create polls to spark discussions.
Using Zoom in Online Classes
Even if you are teaching an asynchronous online course, it is always helpful to have some synchronous class meetings to help build community and facilitate real-time discussion and collaboration. We'll explore how to schedule Zoom meetings and connect them to your Canvas course. We will also look at best practices for screen sharing, breakout rooms and polls.
Screencasting Basics
Learn the basics of “screencasting”, recording videos of action taking place on your screen. We will look at the workflow of creating a screencast using Zoom and the free tool Screencast-o-matic.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
