Slack is a messaging service which we use to communicate among our members. It is divided into interest channels so you can join or leave them as your interest dictates. 

When joining, you are automatically added to the Monthly Meeting, Random, General, Special Activities, and Slack Questions channels.

You also control your notifications. You can select under what conditions you receive a notification. Please be sure to take a look at the options available to you.
