This introduction to teaching is designed for faculty with limited prior teaching experience and for those who would like to explore we can use the growing research on how learning works to teach more effectively. We will read James Lang’s Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning. Sessions will be tailored to the group’s need and interests and will topics such as how to handle the first day of class; creating class policies; and designing rubrics, assignments, and tests. Participants are not expected to attend every session—come when you can!
