Young Rangers: Climate Action Youth Group - Expression of Interest
This is a form for young people aged 14-18 years old to register their interest in the Young Rangers Project.

The programme will encourage young people based in West Cornwall to volunteer and take practical action over the climate emergency through engagement with our heritage sites and by learning about practical conservation. Its aim is to foster a sense of pride of place in our local historical landscape and to grow skills and knowledge in countryside management.

Completing this form does not guarantee you a space on the programme - spaces are limited and we will consider an individual's availability and interests in selecting the participants.

This form is intended to be completed by the young person, but please make sure you inform your parent/guardian that you are doing so.

Any questions of if you need any support in applying, please email volunteering@cornwallheritagetrust.org or phone our office on 01209 707 008.

This project is supported by English Heritage's national youth engagement programme, Shout Out Loud:http://shoutoutloud.org.uk/

About the sessions
WHAT
We want this project to be youth led, and for the activities we undertake to be guided by the interests of the group. Therefore the locations and content of most of the planned dates is intentionally open, and we will set the details of these on consultation with the Young Rangers when we start.
Some surrounding activity, such as reflective journalling and research could be completed at home/in your own time.

WHEN
All the sessions take place on weekends in term times or on weekdays in school holidays. We aim to run them as 4 hour sessions from 11am-3pm including a lunch break, but this could be changed to support the group with access to transport etc if needed.

WHERE
The sessions will be held in West Cornwall and may be at the following locations:
  • Cornwall Heritage Trust Offices, Krowji, Redruth (TR15 3GE)
  • Cornwall Heritage Trust Botho, Pendeen (TR19 7EW)
  • Sancreed Beacon, Sancreed (TR20 8QT)
  • Caer Bran, Sancreed (TR20 8QZ)
  • Carn Euny, Sancreed (TR20 8RB)
We are aware these locations are remote and we are happy to support with transport expenses and transport, including picking people up from nearby bus and train stations.
