Safeguarding Referral Form
British Rowing's Code of Conduct which applies to volunteers, competitors, coaches and spectators sets out our expectations of behaviour throughout British Rowing events. These, and the Safeguarding and Protecting Children, and Adults-at-Risk policies can be found on the British Rowing Safeguarding Webpage.

All British Rowing events have a dedicated Event Welfare Officer. You'll find details of who this is, in the event welfare policy. The Event Welfare Officer is the initial point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and may be contacted by email on welfare@britishrowing.org or by telephone on the day of the event.

Alternatively, you can contact the British Rowing's Safeguarding Team (please note this email is not monitored at weekends) safeguarding@britishrowing.org but in an emergency please contact the Police (999) or NSPCC (0808 800 5000)

What should be reported on this form?

The welfare of participants is paramount throughout any British Rowing event. In order to achieve this, please complete this form for any concerns/issues, accidents or incidents no matter how trivial they may appear.

Concerns may be about the behaviour of any child or adult involved or spectating a British Rowing event, or through your involvement in sport outside of this event.

Concerns could include:

· general concern for a child or athlete’s welfare
· a safeguarding incident e.g. bullying or poor practice
· suspicions or allegations of misconduct
· breaches of the British Rowing Code of Conduct
· allegations of abuse made by or against any young person or adult
· an injury

Please complete the form and it will be submitted to the Event Welfare Officer and British Rowing's LSO.
All information will be treated confidentially and only shared amongst those who need to know. Further information on reporting a concern can be found on the British Rowing Safeguarding webpage in our Safeguarding Handbook 2

Information regarding concerns is vital to our commitment to continually develop and improve the experience of participants in our sport—thank you.
