Maggie Miller will lead the November session on "Surfaces with Knotted Boundary." We’ll discuss surfaces, like the sphere or the surface of a torus, which are 2-dimensional objects. A knotted circle (or a “knot”) in 3-space always bounds a surface (e.g., the round circle bounds a disk). We’ll investigate how to produce a surface with boundary any knot we want.

Participants earn two CPE hours for each session. We request that you register by noon on November 29 so that we have the needed information for your CPE certificate, the food order, and parking validations.
