The primary mission of an Aspen Skiing Company ambassador is to focus on and interact with guests who come to ski our 4 mountains, enhance their vacation experience, and help them take home memories and stories that will make them want to return here again and again.
Ambassadors are required to:
1. Have lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for at least 3 years.
2. Meet and greet skiers who come to ski our 4 mountains and visit our valley.
3. Interact and converse easily with guests from all over the world.
4. Ski/board at an intermediate to advanced level. (Ski School rating 7-9)
5. Know the mountains well, including trail and lift names, special sites and features, and history.
6. Know the valley well in terms of entertainment, restaurants, services, shopping,resources, activities, etc.
7. Serve one full day (8:15am to 4:30pm (sometimes later) – same day, same mountain –each week for the entire season at your assigned mountain.
8. Perform all of the duties required in the course of the day: e.g., serving cider and RX Bars filling water coolers, greeting skiers arriving on buses, parking lots and other points of entry, providing orientation tours of the mountain twice each day, answering questions, solving problems, helping guests and offering information and recommendations.
9. Perform all of these duties in a happy, gracious, outgoing manner.
10. Be willing to do what is asked of them in the course of the Ambassador day.
11. Wear a helmet.
12. Are limited to a total of 3 trade days with other ambassadors on their mountain in the course of a season.
This is a brief summary of the requirement and duties of an ambassador. In your personal interview we will review the duties and requirements in greater depth, and you will see a typical rotation of duties that Ambassadors follow each day. Please understand that while you are asked to indicate your choice of mountain and days you are available to serve, we may not be able to accommodate your choices.
First year ambassadors are regarded as interns in the Ambassador Program. Outstanding performance in the first year is a requirement to be being invited to return as a full ambassador the following year. And, in fact, all ambassadors must be invited to return each season.
The Aspen Skiing Company provides ambassadors with a full season pass.
