Enrollment applications are now being accepted for consideration in Giles County's Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) program. We have Pre-K classrooms at four of our schools: Elkton Elementary School, Minor Hill School, Pulaski Elementary School, and Richland Elementary School.
Children must be four years of age on or before August 15, 2020 in order to qualify for our program.
Enrollment Priority Requirements are as follows:
1st Priority (Tier I): Students identified as economically disadvantaged (pursuant to state law T.C.A 49-6-101). This identification is based on income levels set each year by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and used during the application process to determine income eligibility for enrollment.
2nd Priority (Tier II): Students with disabilities, students identified as English Language Learners, students in state custody, or students identified as educationally at-risk for failure due to circumstances of abuse or neglect.
3rd Priority (Tier III): If space for enrollment remains available after identifying children who meet Tier I or Tier 2 requirements, the Giles County School System may enroll any child who meets the age requirement and the requirements set forth by the Community Pre-K Advisory Council (CPAC). These students are considered unserved or underserved and may be enrolled by the process established by the CPAC.
