Continuing students from September 2021 do not need to complete the enrollment form again; to continue, please submit the second semester’s payment as per the September schedule.
This program incorporates high-level coursework in math, English, writing, science and critical thinking with a focus on preparation for success in high school and college. This program will prepare students not only to pass any test for admission into specialized programs like ACL and TJ, but also to succeed and even thrive in high school and later in College.
New students need to take an online evaluation test to be accepted into this program.
*You may skip this step if your child had COMPLETED the Algebra 1 course through Curie Learning.
All new students MUST take the placement test BEFORE they are registered into the program. It is also optional for returning students to take the test if the patron so chooses.
The placement test will help determine if your child qualifies for our Academic School Year program and if the program is suitable for them.

After taking the placement test, new students are welcome to join anytime with the understanding that they will not have access to the previous material they missed. We will provide a list of what was already covered in the class. In general, we find that students who are joining significantly late are more likely to be successful in the previous level rather than the current level. This is due to the fact that there are many concepts missed at that point and those concepts are very advanced and unfamiliar to the students. Since the curriculum is cumulative, joining the current level too late may simply cause frustration for the student and have the adverse effect on the student's success as the student will need to catch up on the previous skills while practicing the new skills.

THREE-ON-ONE TUTORING (Begins February 1st):
To better prepare for writing persuasive essays and student information sheet (SIS), every student gets a 60 min. three-on-one appointment with a writing expert once per month.
For 3-on-1 tutoring, you will get an email with further information regarding how to sign up with a tutor.
**When you register for a weekly class, you are automatically enrolled for the alternate Sunday writing classes and 3-on-1 tutoring.

Both the registration form and payment needs to be received for registration to be complete and your child to be assigned to a class.
***Course expectations: after you complete and submit this enrollment form, and we receive your payment, your child will receive a Google Classroom invitation to the student email address that you provide in this form. Please make sure to create an email address for your child because the name associated with the email address must match the name we have in our system.
Please also make sure to enable Google Classroom notifications, so that your child receives the Google Classroom invitation. In order to enable notifications, please go to the Google Classroom homepage. Then, please click the three lines in the top left hand corner and click Settings, which is located at the bottom. Please make sure Email notifications are on and that the button is blue and specifically, that notifications for receiving Google Classroom invitations is on.
The student's email address will only be used for the Google Classroom; all other important announcements will be sent to the provided parent email addresses. As a parent, you may follow up with your child's Google Classroom by logging into your child's email address and viewing it.
NOTE: When making the payment for the SECOND SEMESTER, continuing students who have registered during the first semester do NOT need to re-enroll; to continue, please submit the second semester's payment as per the September schedule. Write a check made out to Curie Learning. The child's first and last name must be included in the MEMO line, and all checks must be written out in blue or black ink.
