CESI Cork Community of Practice
The Computers in Education Society for Ireland (CESI) is forming a Community of Practice, CESI•CS,  for educators interested in Computer Science.

Face-to-face meetings in local education centres will take place to establish relationships and share experience with educators at all levels and others interested in developments in Computer Science. The CESI online forum will be also used to sustain an online community. We also aim to facilitate some training where possible from community of practice members or facilitators.

Use this form to express your interest in attending face-to-face events in Cork Education Support Centre (CESC) and joining our online community. This Community of Practice will be facilitated in Cork by Benjamin Cochain (post primary) and Claire O' Riordan (primary).

If you would like, you can make a proposal to facilitate a small workshop at these meet ups. This may be either something you need personally, seeking support from others, or for something you can offer to facilitate, which you believe others or the community may need. These activities are to address YOUR needs in practice and might include (non-exhaustive list):

• IMPROVING knowledge of a new programming language,
• EXPLORING data structures or queries,
• MAKING artefacts driven by micro-controllers,
• DISCUSSING student misconceptions about a particular curricular topic,
• SHARING assessment techniques both formative & summative or
• DESIGNING a lesson and evaluate its effectiveness by joining in a lesson study group.

Please bring a laptop or tablet with you if possible. We can provide these if necessary.
