Playa Field Tour & Workshop Registration
Want to know more about playas, the benefits they provide, and how to make them work for you? Register now for the 6th Annual Playa Lake Tour and Workshop on January 11 and 12, 2022, in Dodge City, Kansas. The event is free for landowners and tenants with playa lakes on their land and includes lunch both days. For others who would like to attend, there is a $50 fee.

The event will be held in the school district building attached to the Civic Center:

Due to covid-19, social distancing and other precautions will be observed during the field tour and workshop portion. There will be virtual conferencing options available as well for those who prefer not to attend in person. Participants will be notified by email if there are any changes to the schedule or event.

Registration fees can be paid in-person by cash or check at the event. Otherwise, an invoice will be sent after the event, which can be paid by check or credit card. You will receive a confirmation email as well as another email with more details closer to the event.

Thanks to our event sponsors, the Playa Field Tour & Workshop is free for landowners and land managers with playas on their land. For others who would like to attend, there is a $50 fee ($25 per day). Lunch is provided on both days and included with registration. Because covid-19 social distancing requirements could require changes to the event or individual participation, we will be collecting registration fees on the day of the event (by cash or check) or invoicing organizations after the event.

Will you attend the playa field tour on January 11? *
The tour will start at 9am and end before 5pm. We will tour six playas in Gray and Ford Counties that are enrolled in various conservation programs. Attendees will see what playas may look like before, during, and after being accepted into a conservation program and using different management strategies to restore the health of a playa. There will also be opportunities to have open discussions about the pros and cons of each conservation program. Lunch is provided.
Will you attend the workshop on January 12? *
Participants will learn about the latest playa research, why playas are so important to the high plains ecosystem, and available playa conservation programs. There will also be an open discussion session where attendees can ask questions of technical staff and landowners who are participating in conservation programs and meet local staff who can give expert advice about playa lakes and playa restoration programs. Lunch is provided.
