Lawyers for Literacy is a public service program that matches legal professionals with local school children to improve students’ reading skills and spark their interest in books, civics, and history.
Lawyers for Literacy volunteers spend 30-45 minutes a week reading to a small groups of students over a month’s time. The NCBF provides all materials, including pencils, stickers, and 'passports' for students to record the titles of books they read with volunteers. At the end, the school will get to keep the books and more will be sent for staff to distribute as they see fit.
Thank you for your interest in this program. We look forward to working with you!
