REGISTER A TREE
Transition Sarasota's Fruit Rescue initiative would love to have your tree registered in our online resource. Fruit Rescue was created as a means for homeowners to donate their unharvested fruit to local food banks, charitable groups, and farmers’ markets, to get produce to those in need and reduce food waste.

How it Works:
1.  Register your tree.
2.  After you register your tree you will be contacted by a volunteer with Fruit Rescue. The volunteer will distribute some written information which contains details about the exchange.
3.  Choose your harvesting option:
      a.  Volunteer Gleaning of your property:  Volunteer groups, with the homeowner’s permission, harvest the fruit from individual trees. (All of our volunteers sign a liability release.)
      b.  Self Harvest: You harvest and call us when you are done. We will pick it up.
4.  You will be contacted at the open of each season in which your have a ripe tree to schedule a harvesting date(s) or crate pick up time.
5.  You will be invited to tree care workshops hosted at IFAS. Here you will learn about proper fruit tree care, fertilization and trimming.
