--> MENTOR ELDER'S ROLE:
Your role is to be a support during confirmation process. You will mentor one confirmation student (grades 8-12) during their journey through confirmation class in early 2023. You will help them formulate their statement of faith and encourage and support them in this journey of faith exploration. 

--> WHAT IS THE RELATIONAL COMMITMENT:  
-Be fully safe-church trained and compliant with registering 1:1s with students by emailing youth@sunnyvalepres.com before they occur.
-Pray for your mentee.
-Stay in touch through email or text encouraging them through the process.
-Schedule two check-ins (via zoom or phone call) with your confirmation mentee:
     1) Late February or early March - after we’ve introduced them to the idea of a faith statement. You can be a sounding board for them as they start their writing process.
     2) Early April - about a week before the final deadline (April 15) for the faith statements, to revise the draft and offer support in finishing their faith statement.

--> DATES THAT REQUIRE YOUR AVAILABILITY: 
   -Monday, January 9, attend the first half hour of our first Confirmation Class at 7:00-8:30pm
   -Tuesday, January 17, 7:00-9:00pm  - confirmation class will observe Session meeting
   -Tuesday, April 25, 7:00-8:30pm - Confirmation class meets with Session to present their statement of faith
   -Sunday, April 30, 10am - Confirmation Service
