Peas n' Carrots CSA sign-up
Peas n’ Carrots is an organic, mixed vegetable farm located in Saanich, British Columbia. We are focused on the food staples that keep our family fed and ignite a passion for cooking, culture and cultivating.

What the heck is a CSA?
CSA (or Community Supported Agriculture) is a food box program where the shareholder pays a lump sum up front and receives a food box each week. This is particularly helpful for farmers to fund their early season farming inputs (seeds, amendments, infrastructure, labour, etc.) when very little food is available to sell and kickstart the growing season. It is one of the best ways folks can support food security, small businesses and local organic farmers in their region.

What is our CSA like?
This year we are running a small yet mighty CSA at Peas n’ Carrots, offering our very best, fresh, seasonal produce over a eighteen week span from early June into October.
Each week, customers could receive anything from kales, tomatoes, beans, eggs, salad greens, chard, peppers, beets, radishes, strawberries, pac choi, onion, herbs, cucumber, potatoes, kohlrabi, squash and of course, peas n’ carrots! This year, this money invested by shareholders will contribute towards purchasing a polly tunnel, and extending our growing space.

In addition to fresh farm produce, we are excited to inform folks that we are also offering an additional add-on to our veggie box in the form of a meat share. All the meat will be from our friends at Haus Sausage, which is where we source our own meat from too. The meat will be frozen when picked up, allowing customers to thaw and eat in the next few days or keep in their freezer for up to six months. Haus sources their meat from the island from farms that they deem to be exemplary. I encourage you all to check out their products here: https://haussausageco.com/

We will have beautiful veggie boxes available for shareholders at a value of at least twenty dollars each week for pickup at the Farm or in town at our home on Tuesdays. We are also working on an online ordering system so folks can add additional produce each week if they desire.
The price of our veggie CSA is $20 a week for 18 weeks for a total of $360 for the season
An additional meat share can be added on for $285, which accompanies the veggie box each week

Do you have any food allergies?
For our own curiosity, what makes you excited about being a part of a CSA?
How our CSA is structured: Our CSA is a first come- first served food box. Once spaces are filled, people on the waitlist will be contacted if capacity is increased and spaces become available. A $150 deposit is required to secure your spot once prompted, we accept cash, cheque or e-transfer. Customers agree to pay in full by April 15th, 2022 and in return are allotted a food box each week starting in June. The box could contain a wide array of fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs or processed foods from farm produce or fruit picks. If you have opted for a meat share, this will be in your box too. Customers agree to pick up during the specified time at the agreed location each week. Please notify us a week in advance if changes will need to be made (eg. going on holiday). We will only be able to make modifications to boxes in the case of a food allergy, please inform us of allergies in the field above.   *
