To The Moon 2024 Event Lead Team (ELT) Interest Form - Introduction
We are rounding out our Event Leads Team for next year and invite you to apply for the role as
Event Lead or Event Co-Lead!! While most burns have one Event Lead and one Co-Lead, To The Moon likes to have at least two teams of two so they don't have to work around the clock as an EL Team is always on duty. The EL Team is supported by an active BOD member on duty and on call at all times. It takes a village, we have a larger burn on even larger land we want our EL Team to be supported from all angles.

The ideal candidates will have prior leadership experience with a critical & heavy duty team such as
- Rangers
- Safety
- DPW

If you've been an Event Co-Lead before at TTM or another Regional Burn, you can apply as Event Lead as well.
As Co-Lead, you will be paired up with an experienced Event Lead so you are never working alone at any given time. The Event Leads Team will create a schedule closer to event giving consideration to everyone's preference in regards to a 24 hour period off com / off duty during the event.

If you don't think you're ready for full-on Leadership yet but are ready to know or learn more about what it entails? GREAT! Fill this out anyway and simply select
 'Understudy/Leadership Development.'
We will reach out to you with mentorship / shadow opportunities put in place to help anyone develop their future inner leader!

Below are some general expectations of the ELT, but alas, fear not! We have pretty solid support and resource systems in place to help you with getting acclimated once selected, especially if this is your first time as acting Event Lead.

PLEASE NOTE:
***We have a separate form for those interested in General Team Leadership or the Board of Directors***

GENERAL EVENT LEAD EXPECTATIONS:
Attend bi-monthly Event Lead meetings starting in January (Lead or Co-Lead, preferably both) for which we provide online meeting options (weekly starting Feb 2024)
Work closely with teams to help implement a budget for team needs in a timely manner
Attend at least one work weekend and/or build weekend (last weekend prior to burn) and assist with teardown post event to handle any team's infrastructure if Lead / Co-Lead are unable to remain on site for strike.
Assist Team Leads with setting up volunteer signup schedules in coordination with the volunteer coordinator (VC) on Signup Genius to help you find the volunteers needed to fill all the shifts.
Work closely with VC and DPW teams during event to handle team needs on the fly,  such as volunteer shortage, consumables etc.
Attend daily Event and Team Lead meetings during the event
Attend On-Site Safety/Radio training
Complete post-event AfterBurn
Work closely with Safety Team to ensure safety of all fire / art / coordinate burndown
Communication is key when you're in a situation which causes you to be absent from agreed upon meetings or can't meet dead or timelines prior to event. Life happens but we can only do something about filling in for you in case of emergency / life / work / kids etc if we know about it.
Be cordial and professional with other members of leadership. We’re a small team with a LOT to do; you don’t have to like everyone, but you do need to be a team player. This is a volunteer role, but professionalism is expected to get the job done.
