Workshop: Caring for Your Trees & Woodlands
Tuesday, May 28, 5:30-8:30pm at Belwin Conservancy in Afton ($5 suggested donation)

Join  Belwin Conservancy, Washington Conservation District, Minnesota DNR, and Washington County Master Gardeners for a walk in the woods during this fun, interactive workshop about caring for trees and woodlands.

The workshop will start with a short introductory presentation inside the Hilltop Classroom. Afterwards, participants will divide into two smaller groups to learn more about tree care and woodland management.

Topics will include:
- Basic tree identification
- What's stressing your tree? Pests, diseases, drought, and other challenges
- Managing buckthorn, garlic mustard, and other invasive species
- Supporting birds and wildlife.

If we're lucky, we hope to find some spring wildflowers while out on the trails as well.

Meet at the Education Site, Hilltop Classroom: 1553 Stagecoach Trail S., Afton, MN 55001. This workshop will include indoor and outdoor components. Please wear sturdy walking shoes, as well as bug spray and sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. Light refreshments will be provided.
