One of the most important ways to tackle the climate crisis is by acting on local level to create a global ripple effect.
We are pushing for change on Bainbridge by increasing sustainable transportation options by building safe, off-road protected bike network connecting students to anywhere they want to go on the island, particularly schools.
Students and parents: we're in a key moment where you can let your voice be heard about the needs of students to bike and walk to school. The time to act on behalf of environmental justice is now! COBI (The City of Bainbridge Island)'s Sustainable Transportation Task Force is currently in the process of making decisions about biking and walking infrastructure.
**We are looking for people to support this initiative through staying connected to relevant issues via our newsletter, attending meetings, or starting student groups through schools. Any way that you can tap in is greatly appreciated! Please fill out the form to let us know your contact information and how you would like to get involved.**
Let's create an island where people of all ability levels, incomes and ages can bike to schools, work and anywhere else safely. That way, we can cut fossil fuels, increase health and happiness levels, and improve air quality for future generations.
Thank you for your help!
