Hillel Milwaukee and StandWithUs are hosting Charlotte Korchak on campus for a 2-part series of events on Monday, January 31. Use this form to sign-up for any and all of the events.

Charlotte Korchak is the Senior Educator and Director of International Student Programs at StandWithUs Israel, where she educates and trains students from around the world in Israeli history and activism. Charlotte grew up in both the United States and Israel, spending her formative years living in Jerusalem during the second intifada, giving her an internal and external perspective on Israel and the conflict.

The event during the day are reserved for students at any of the universities we serve. The event in the evening is open to the entire community and will also be streamed on Zoom. Please RSVP by Wednesday, January 26.

Schedule of Events:

3:30 pm: Hot Topics and Hot Drinks. Students are invited to gather at Marquette University's Henke Lounge in the Alumni Memorial Union (1442 W Wisconsin Ave) for an intimate conversation with Charlotte Korchak about the hot topics surrounding Israel. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions either anonymously or directly about Israel and gain a new perspective from Charlotte's expertise. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be provided.

7 pm: Becoming an Activist in the Shadow of Terror - A Journey from L.A. to Jerusalem. Charlotte Korchak, born in Los Angeles, moved to Israel with her family in the year 1997. At the time, the situation in Israel was relatively calm, but that all changed in September of 2000. Charlotte had just turned 13 and her world turned upside down as she found herself living amid the worst terror wave in Israel’s history. Two years of constant violence, the loss of friends to terrorism, and a near-miss, left Charlotte with mild PTSD and hate in her heart. The entire community is invited to join for this talk at the Alumni Fireside Lounge in the UW-Milwaukee Union (2200 E Kenwood Blvd). **We will also be streaming this event on Zoom - use this form to RSVP**
