Voice of Others is a collage of scenes and monologues written and created by the students/actors in the Dialogue of Civilizations Workshops, inspired by the essential question of A.R.T.'s production of Life of Pi: How can telling stories help us cope and survive?
In these ten weeks of workshops, students and teachers from Palestine, Egypt, Azerbaijan, China, Haiti, Brazil, Iran, U.S, Ethiopia, and Argentina used their theatrical training to explore identity, heritage, and community though learning a new language in a new home. Our international students/artists created Voice of Others by learning theater skills based on body, mind, voice, and imagination to explore the power of storytelling and how it helps us to cope, survive and connect to one another across backgrounds.
Voice of Others is a part of the Dialogue of Civilizations program at the American Repertory Theater in collaboration with The Immigrant Learning Center, led by the A.R.T. Learning Lead Vahdat Yeganeh.
Join us to celebrate the culmination of ten weeks of Dialogue of Civilizations workshops and the excellent work of our new neighbors!
