Character Background Submission
Please fill out this form to give the NPCs information about your character!  We use this information to write plots, to figure out what you will be interested in, and what kind of things we can throw at you that you will enjoy!

Try to keep in mind putting forth a good mixture of detail, while still keeping things vague enough that we can fill in the blanks.  Like Swiss Cheese: somehow the holes make things yummy!  Give us enough to work with, but leave space for us to add detail and to be able to involve others.

NOTE:  Some things have not been finalized, like how many incentive points Nobility will cost, or, you know, the whole rulebook.  So after the Feb event, if you want to change anything, you will 100% be able to.  This is a head start for some of the NPCs who are understandably tired of waiting for me to finish the rules before they can get writing plot.

Character Name

There are guidelines in each of the kingdoms on what kind of naming conventions those kingdoms use.  You do not need to follow them if you do not want, it is not mandatory.  It does connect you with the kingdom from which you hail, but it is not required!  Name yourself what is in your heart!

Nation of Origin

If you are going to add an additional place where you could be from, please note where and why.  And know that the existing nations are going to have a lot of interaction with the game's plot.  While you can add smaller towns or cultures in the world, and we will work with you on the additions, the nations we wrote are going to have more air-time by design.

Short Background

This should be a few sentences to explain who your character is and why they are traveling with the Exoria Trade Caravan.   There is a portion at the end of this form to paste in longer backstories, but this should be something quick and simple and at a glance.  No more than a paragraph.

Important Contacts

Include here a  list of important family or connections and whether they are alive or dead.  You can also note PC connections that you plan to start with.

Be aware that we will be using this list as contacts, or for letter writing, or hostages, and so on.  So if there are characters in this list that you would rather the NPCs not play or utilize, please note as such.
Enemies

Living Enemies that the NPCs are allowed to portray.  You do not have to write anything here, and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to get to every goal and enemy.  And there is nothing wrong with having your character have a happy background, and just wanting to go on an adventure.

Take into account that this is a LARP and not a tabletop, so most things will be group activities.  If you have a villain who has a personal grudge against you, be aware that we will want to use them to be a bad guy that others are also fighting.  Keep in mind the group dynamics when writing enemies, and be aware that enemies who are open ended are easier for us to work into the campaign.
Character Drives

These are goals and drives that will motivate your character.

I recommend having three levels of goals/drives: daily, campaign goals, and life-time goals.

Daily goals will be things that will help us create modules and adventures that you might like.  Things like, "My character is into alchemy and wants to learn more."  Or "my character really wants to rescue those in distress."

Campaign goals are big goals that you hope to achieve over the course of the 2.5 / 3 year campaign.  Things like, "find a cure for my sister's illness" or "find the most powerful violin in the world".

Life-time goals are for things that would technically happen during your epilogue.  Things that your character wants to do after this tour of the world.  "Have enough money to settle down in RenVoss and watch my children float around in the weird gravity" or "be the world's greatest violin player with my powerful violin!".

These layers of goals help you to know which adventures are right for you, and which way your character is going.  They also help plan for the end of the campaign, and these goals can change over the course of the campaign: this is just a starting point.
Character Fears/Worries

Things that keep your character up at night.  Things that they may not want to interact with.  Things that you want to set up to have your character overcome through the campaign.  NOTE: These should not be things that YOU are afraid of, and aligning your character's anxieties with your own is not super healthy.
Long Background

If you have a lot of story and background that you want to add here, please do!  Writing stories and getting into some details of your character's past can really flesh out how you want to play them and what kind of person you want them to be!

And a bunch of our NPCs really like to read them.
