Use this form to request a French or Spanish Language Proficiency Placement Test.
You DO NOT need to take the exam if you have NEVER been exposed to French or Spanish. You may register for the Elementary I (111 level) language course of your choice. Work with your advisor to enroll.
If you have prior knowledge of any other language, whether acquired at home or through previous studies, you may take a different approved proficiency test. For more details, please contact Dr. Francisco Plata, Chair of Modern Languages and Cultures Department, at fplata@sjf.edu
Depending on achievement level in the reading and listening sections of the placement test, a speaking component will also be part of the assessment. See below for more information.
