Recommendation Form

Dear Dear Rev./Mr./Mrs./Ms.,

We are asking that you fill out this recommendation form to assert the good character, academic integrity, commitment to faith, and desire to learn of a student who is applying to attend the Tolle Lege Summer Institute at Borromeo Seminary. The Tolle Lege Institute is a fun, faith-centered intellectual summer camp operated by Borromeo Seminary and run by Borromeo seminarians and seminary faculty. Our goal is to instruct students going into their senior year of high school on a few basics of philosophy and theology that will be of great significance and assistance to them in their continued involvement in the Catholic Church.

Our name, Tolle Lege, comes from the account the noted Christian bishop and philosopher of the 4th century, St. Augustine, gives of the divine call he received to a conversion of life entirely to the service of God. St. Augustine heard the voice of a child telling him, “Tolle Lege,” or, “Take up and read,” and immediately St. Augustine picked up a copy of St. Paul’s Epistle to the Romans to read, and from that point he committed himself to a life lived for God, becoming a priest and ultimately a bishop and one of the most renowned Christian philosophers.

In order to ensure that the students attending our camp are in good standing with their parish and that they possess a sufficient attitude of appreciation and devotion to the intellectual aspect of Catholicism, we ask that you recommend them by completing both pages of the form below.  Please be thorough, as this will help us to best minister to the student.  Please send completed recommendation form to: Tolle Lege Summer Institute at 28700 Euclid Ave. Wickliffe, OH 44092.

If you have any questions we can be reached at: tollelegecamp@gmail.com or 440-943-7890.  Our website is tollelegecamp.com.

Thank you for your time,

Josh Stecz, Andrew Bendahan, and Matt Wasinski
