Thank you for your interest in a Read and Write Kalamazoo (RAWK) Storytelling & Bookmaking Field Trip for your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade class! These field trips are free of charge, as are all RAWK programs, and funding is currently focused on 3rd-5th grade classrooms that demonstrate need of literacy support and specifically on Kalamazoo Public Schools. If your classroom falls out of that scope, there are still ways your class can attend a field trip. All interested teachers should fill out this form. (If you have questions outside of this form, please email RAWK's Executive Director, Nicki Poer, at
nicki@readandwritekzoo.org for more information)
PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION:
This program is no longer "first-come, first-served." Our shift in registration approach supports our mission by expanding access to literacy programs and educational equity in Kalamazoo County.
The RAWK team will carefully evaluate each application and the contact classes in schools that align with our priority enrollment criteria, which prioritizes schools with a lower number of existing partnerships, a higher number of students from low-income families, and schools that need extra support in accessing programs. Schools receiving these fully funded field trips must be public schools in Kalamazoo County.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have more than one class you would like to bring, you need to fill out a separate application for each.
