All students will be issued a school computer. Please make sure you have reviewed the following documents located on the Magellan Website: Navigator Project Handbook, Acceptable Use Policy, Magellan Google Apps Permission Letter, Educational Online Accounts Permission.

Please complete this form once you have reviewed the above Technology Policies.

As the parent or guardian of this student, I have read the Acceptable Use Policy. I understand that access to network resources/Internet for students at The Magellan Charter School is provided as an integral part of the Magellan educational experience and is for educational purposes only. I understand that employees of the school will make every reasonable effort to restrict access to all controversial material on the Internet, but I will not hold them responsible for materials my son or daughter acquires or sees as a result of the use of the Internet from school facilities/home. *

I give my permission to The Magellan Charter School to allow my child to use the network resources/ Internet on computers at the school and home.

I do NOT give permission for my child to use Magellan’s computer network resources and the Internet at school and home.

I understand that my child’s projects may be considered for publication on the Internet on school websites, including social media. Photos of my child, identified by first name, may also be published on school websites as related to school activities such as Character Awards. My child’s first name with last initial may be used with student projects or other school news. *

Student Navigator Project Agreement *

I understand that the laptop and accessories assigned to me are the property of The Magellan Charter School.

I will use the laptop responsibly and follow all related policies and guidelines for appropriate digital citizenship including The Magellan Acceptable Use Policy, The Navigator Responsible Use Policy, the Laptop Care and Maintenance procedures.

I will use the laptop for educational use that supports my classroom learning, according to directions from my teacher.

I will be responsible for all damages to and/or loss of my assigned laptop.

I agree to return the laptop and accessories in good working condition.

I understand that violation of any of the policies can result in disciplinary action and restriction/ loss of use.

Parent Navigator Project Agreement *

I understand that responsibility for the Navigator Project is a shared instructional venture between the school, student user, and parents.

I acknowledge that the Navigator laptop and accessories are the property of The Magellan Charter School and are on loan to my child for the current school year.

I agree to follow all policies and guidelines for use, responsibility, and care as outlined in the Acceptable Use, Responsible Use, Care and Maintenance, and Damage and Loss policy.

I will monitor my child’s laptop use.

I agree to pay any fees assessed due to damage, loss or theft.

I understand that it is advisable to immediately file a police report in the case of loss, theft, or vandalism that might occur away from the school property.
