What is Kaargo?
Kaargo is a your neighborhood trusted community shipping network that connects individuals who want to ship packages to their loved ones with travelers who want to monetize their excess luggage capacity. Often, these individuals find existing shipping options unsuitable for their needs due to cost, delivery times, or lack of trust in the service. We solve this problem by linking these individuals (Shippers) with trustworthy and vetted frequent international travelers who have excess capacity in their luggage. Say goodbye to exorbitant shipping fees and impersonal courier services – with Kaargo, you can save both money and the environment by utilizing existing travel routes.
Benefits of joining as a Shipper- Match: Team Kaargo will work with you to find a potential Traveller who can deliver your shipment to its final destination.
- Shipment Delivery and Tracking: Your shipment will be carried and delivered by a Trusted Traveller with the support of Team Kaargo, and you'll receive interim delivery updates as it makes its way to the destination.
- Ideation Community: You will have the opportunity to shape Kaargo's product early on through our feedback loop program.
Benefits of joining as a Traveller- Match: Team Kaargo will work with you to match you with a potential "Kaargo audited" shipment that you can safely carry and deliver to an agreed-upon destination.
- Get Paid: You will be fairly compensated for carrying and delivering the shipment to the agreed-upon destination.
- Shipment Care: You'll have the chance to connect people with their loved ones and provide trusted support during times of their emergency.
- Build Trust: You can become a trusted member of our community through Shipper/Receiver ratings and even earn extra tip money.
- Ideation Community: You will have the opportunity to shape Kaargo's product early on through our feedback loop program.
Benefits as both Traveler and Shipper
You will enjoy all the benefits listed above for both Travelers and Shippers.
Our Request from Shippers and Travelers during this initial product launch to test our Kaargo operational workflows:
Shipper
- You will package the items with the final destination address and shipping label.
- You will drop off the shipment at Kaargo's designated location and go through the Shipment due diligence process.
- You will pay a flat shipping fee to Kaargo. See current pricing structure here https://www.kaargo.io/pricing
- Kaargo reserves the right to reject any shipment based on the contents of the shipment and compliance with international customs duties and travel regulations.
- You will be added to the appropriate Kaargo Community Channels (e.g: Whatsapp)
Traveler
- You will pick up the shipment from Kaargo's designated pickup location.
- Incase of unforeseen circumstances of flight delays, cancellations - you will provide an update to Kaargo for any required adjustments for shipment delivery timeline
- You will provide Kaargo with timely text updates on the shipment delivery progress as outlined in the Knowledge Article here.
- You will coordinate shipment delivery pickup with the receiver at the final destination city, country
- You will be added to the appropriate Kaargo Community Channels (e.g: Whatsapp)
Please note: This pilot's origin of shipments and travelers will be limited to the Bay Area, California, with flights departing from (SJC, SFO, OAK). If you are currently not located within the proximity of these airports, please email us at shipkaargo@gmail.com to get on the waitlist as we plan to expand Kaargo's service corridors in the future.
