Change happens through evidence-based knowledge, accessibility to equitable education and care, and shared experience. It is our belief that in order for change to happen, we first have to bring awareness and comprehensible understanding in more interactive and effective manners. This mentorship will bring a diverse perspective of the reproductive lens and the work we do, by offering support that is socially aware, culturally appropriate, and action-oriented.
Our collective extensive background and previous experiences have afforded us the opportunity to gain diverse perspectives of reproductive work, reproductive justice and advocacy, community outreach, non-profit support, relationship building/networking, & community engagement. We hope to enhance mentees' leadership skills to successfully spearhead initiatives that provide support to address the issues surrounding maternal health in Alabama. We would like to assist them with strengthening their knowledge to effectively apply as instruction for teaching their clients.
We are hoping that through this mentorship, mentees gain, not only the skillset and confidence to adequately serve, but that they also consider joining our collective of integrative care and serve as active partners. This will aid in increasing the capacity of Perinatal and reproductive knowledge and accessibility throughout the state of Alabama.
